Who We Are

danielomiller.com is the official personal website of Daniel Miller, author of TEXIT, founder and President of the Texas Nationalist Movement, and founder of RFT Media. In this policy, "we," "us," "the Site," and "danielomiller.com" refer to the website and its operator, Daniel Miller.

This policy explains what information the Site collects, how we use it, who processes it on our behalf, and the choices and rights you have. If you have questions about your privacy or this policy, reach us through the contact form at /contact/.

Information We Collect

We collect only the information we need to answer your inquiries, send you the emails you ask for, and keep the Site running and secure.

  • Contact form. When you send a message through the contact form, we collect your first name, your last name (optional), your email address, the inquiry type you select, the subject, and the content of your message.
  • Newsletter signup. When you subscribe to the newsletter, we collect your email address and, if you provide it, your name.
  • Server logs. Like most websites, our servers automatically record standard technical information when you visit. This includes your IP address, your browser and user-agent string, and the pages you request.

We do not ask for or collect payment card information on danielomiller.com. Purchases in the Store happen on a separate third-party platform. See "The Store and External Commerce" below.

How We Use Your Information

We use the information above for these purposes:

  • To respond to messages you send through the contact form.
  • To send you the newsletter, including a free chapter of the book TEXIT and periodic updates, when you subscribe.
  • To operate, maintain, secure, and troubleshoot the Site, and to detect and prevent abuse, fraud, and attacks.
  • To comply with the law and respond to lawful requests.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

Legal Bases for Processing (GDPR)

If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, we rely on the following legal bases under the General Data Protection Regulation:

  • Consent. We send you the newsletter because you asked us to. You can withdraw consent at any time by unsubscribing.
  • Legitimate interests. We process contact form messages and server logs to respond to you, to keep the Site secure, and to prevent abuse. These are our legitimate interests, balanced against your rights.
  • Legal obligation. We may process information where the law requires it.

Sub-Processors and Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with the service providers that help us run the Site, and only to the extent they need it to perform their function for us. These providers are:

  • MailerLite. Manages our email newsletter list and delivers newsletter emails. When you subscribe, your email address (and name, if provided) is stored and processed by MailerLite.
  • Mailgun. Sends transactional email, such as notifying the site owner when you submit the contact form.
  • PostgreSQL database (self-hosted on Coolify infrastructure). Provides durable storage of form submissions on our own server.
  • Cloudflare. Provides content delivery, DNS, and edge security in front of our origin server. As traffic passes through Cloudflare, it processes technical data such as your IP address to route requests and block malicious activity.

Each provider handles your information under its own privacy terms. We may also disclose information when required by law, to enforce our terms, or to protect the rights, safety, and property of the Site, our users, or the public.

Cookies and Local Storage

The Site does not run third-party advertising networks, and it does not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. No third-party analytics trackers are currently in use.

The Site stores one small item in your browser's localStorage: your theme preference (light or dark). This is a local setting saved in your own browser so the Site remembers how you like it displayed. It is not a tracking cookie, it stays on your device, and it is not sent to advertisers or used to profile you. You can clear it at any time through your browser settings.

The Site also ships a strict Content-Security-Policy, which limits where content and scripts can load from as a security measure.

The Store and External Commerce

The Store on this Site shows product listings and links out to a separate third-party commerce platform (WooCommerce and Printful). We do not collect or process any payment card information on danielomiller.com. When you buy something, the purchase, checkout, and payment happen on that external platform, under its own terms of service and privacy policy. We encourage you to read them.

External Links

The Site links to third-party websites, including the Texian Partisan, social media accounts, the Store, and book retailers. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content or their privacy practices. When you follow a link away from danielomiller.com, this policy no longer applies. Review the privacy policy of any site you visit.

Data Retention

We keep personal information only as long as we need it for the purposes described in this policy.

  • Contact form submissions are retained so we can respond to you and keep a record of correspondence. We delete or anonymize them when they are no longer needed, or sooner on request.
  • Newsletter data is kept until you unsubscribe or ask us to remove it.
  • Server logs are kept for a limited period for security and troubleshooting, then rotated out.

Security

We take reasonable measures to protect your information. The Site sits behind Cloudflare for edge security, ships a strict Content-Security-Policy, and stores form submissions in a database on our own infrastructure. No method of transmission or storage over the internet is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we work to protect your data and to correct problems when we find them.

Your Privacy Rights

If you are in the EEA or the UK (GDPR), you have the right to request access to the personal information we hold about you, to have it corrected (rectification), to have it deleted (erasure), to receive a copy in a portable format (portability), to object to certain processing, and to restrict processing in some cases. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

If you are a California resident (CCPA and CPRA), you have the right to know what personal information we collect and how we use it, the right to request that we delete it, and the right to opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, so there is nothing for you to opt out of on that front. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us through the form at /contact/. You can unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time using the link in any email we send. We will verify your request and respond within the time the law allows.

Children's Privacy

The Site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child under 13 has given us personal information, contact us through the form at /contact/ and we will delete it.

International Users and Data Transfers

We operate from the United States, and our service providers may process and store information in the United States and in other countries. If you access the Site from outside the United States, you understand that your information may be transferred to, stored in, and processed in the United States, where data protection laws may differ from those in your country.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Significant changes may be noted on the Site. Your continued use of danielomiller.com after an update means you accept the revised policy.
